ABOUT / PHILOSOPHY

Our Philosophy

Allison Cho Law represents businesses and individuals when promises are broken and disputes demand resolution.

When commitments are broken, the consequences can extend far beyond the immediate dispute. We help clients understand their rights, evaluate their options, and pursue appropriate remedies. Our focus is on protecting what matters, holding responsible parties accountable where warranted, and helping clients move forward with confidence.

Sculptural architectural lines and quiet natural light

01

simplicity over unnecessary complexity

The law is complicated. Your lawyer shouldn’t be.

We believe in a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to legal representation. No confusing explanations, unnecessary jargon, or evasive answers.

You deserve more than a vague “it depends.” What happened? What can the law do about it? What will it cost? What is the smartest move?

A good lawyer should do more than explain the law. We provide candid advice and make clear recommendations, even when the answer is not what a client hopes to hear.

02

personal attention

Your matter deserves an attorney, not an assembly line.

At Allison Cho Law, clients receive the caliber of representation they expect from a leading litigation firm, without paying a premium for the name on the letterhead.

Clients work directly with the handling attorney, who remains personally involved in the legal strategy and substantive decisions affecting their cases. When a matter falls outside our practice area, we will make thoughtful referrals to trusted, battle-tested attorneys and firms in our professional network.

We intentionally accept a limited number of matters to maintain meaningful attorney involvement and careful attention to each client’s objectives.

03

modern counsel for modern problems

Yesterday’s playbook won’t always solve today’s problems.

Changes in statutes, evolving court decisions, and new forms of commercial risk continually reshape legal rights and litigation strategy. Sometimes the strongest argument comes from decades of established precedent. Other times, it takes a fresh perspective to recognize an opportunity that conventional thinking overlooks.

Allison pairs rigorous litigation training with creative thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning. We stay engaged with developments in the law, technology, and the industries affecting our clients because we believe professional experience should expand one’s perspective, not limit it.

04

efficiency by design

Legal work should not take longer simply because a firm relies on outdated practices.

Traditional law firms often operate within billing structures and workflows developed decades ago. Multiple layers of review, outdated processes, and routine administrative work can drive up legal fees without adding meaningful value.

Clients should not have to pay for their lawyers’ inefficiencies. A simple one-page filing should not take an hour because a legal assistant is struggling with document formatting. Nor should clients be billed for a senior partner learning to navigate basic software or hours of manual work that reliable technology could accomplish in minutes. Attorney time should be spent exercising legal judgment, not overcoming basic technological hurdles.

Our firm embraces modern technology where appropriate, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence, to streamline administrative processes and devote more time to substantive legal work, with attorney oversight and safeguards for client confidentiality.

The objective is simple: your legal fees should reflect the legal expertise your matter requires, not the time wasted getting the work done.

05

transparent billing

No mystery charges. No awkward conversations.

You deserve to know what you are paying for and why. We believe in clear fee arrangements, detailed invoices, and no unnecessary charges.

Our One-Entry Billing Guarantee: Don’t agree with a charge? Every hourly-billing client may remove one attorney time entry per engagement, no questions asked. Already paid? We’ll refund it.

We reserve the right to reassess continued representation where substantial billing disagreements raise concerns about the viability of the engagement, subject to our professional obligations and applicable court requirements.

06

direct accountability

We stand behind our advice. And we own our decisions.

Lawyers are hired to exercise judgment, not simply present a menu of options and leave clients to figure things out themselves. At Allison Cho Law, we take responsibility for the recommendations we make, the strategies we pursue, and the work we perform. We explain our reasoning, communicate risks candidly, and remain accountable when circumstances change.

We do not promise that every decision will produce the desired result. But we promise to approach every decision thoughtfully, communicate honestly, and never hide behind legal jargon or excuses.
